Bucs' Jameis Winston drops to No. 35 in NFL merchandise
Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston, who became the first player ever to throw for 4,000-plus yards in each of his first two NFL seasons, ranked No. 35 in the NFLPA's list of the top 50 players in merchandise sales, down slightly from last year.
Winston, who was 31st on the same list last year, helped the Bucs improve from 6-10 to 9-7, just missing a spot in the playoffs. He is the only Bucs player in the top 50, and ranks seventh among players in their first or second NFL season, behind Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (2), Eagles QB Carson Wentz (5), Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (8), Rams RB Todd Gurley (17), Raiders WR Amari Cooper (19) and Titans QB Marcus Mariota (28).
Winston ranked as high as No. 10 on the list during the second quarter of 2015, when he was drafted, but has been out of the top 20 since that initial ranking.
