Bucs, Koetter announce finalized coaching staff
The Bucs have announced a finalized coaching staff for 2016 under new coach Dirk Koetter, with only seven new hires out of 22 total coaches on the new Tampa Bay staff.
Sunday brought the addition of new offensive coordinator Todd Monken and defensive backs coach Brett Maxie, who will join defensive coordinator Mike Smith, special-teams coordinator Nate Kaczor, defensive line coach Jay Hayes, linebackers coach Mark Duffner and secondary coach Jon Hoke among the new hires.
That means Koetter opted to keep nearly all of his offensive staff from 2015: quarterbacks coach Mike Bajakian, running backs coach Tim Spencer, tight ends coach Jon Embree and offensive line coach George Warhop are all back, as is assistant offensive line coach Butch Barry. Warhop now also carries the title of "run game coordinator," and offensive assistant Andrew Weidinger has been promoted to carry the title of assistant receivers coach and game management.
Koetter opted to return the strength and conditioning coaches from Lovie Smith's staff, with head strength coach Dave Kennedy back, as well as assistants Joe Vaughn and Chad Wade. Pro scout Zack Grossi was promoted to "assistant to the head coach."
