Bucs' Lavonte David named NFC Defensive Player of Week
The Bucs' offensive stars missed out on the NFL's top weekly honors, but linebacker Lavonte David was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after getting two interceptions -- returning one for a touchdown -- in the Bucs' 45-17 win at the Eagles.
David is the second Bucs linebacker to take home the honors this week -- rookie Kwon Alexander was honored after Week 8 -- and it's his second time winning, having won in 2013 as well. He joins Derrick Brooks and Hardy Nickerson as the only Bucs linebackers to win the award twice.
Bucs QB Jameis Winston (5 TD passes) and RB Doug Martin (235 rushing yards) both missed out on NFC offensive honors, which went to Carolina QB Cam Newton, who also had five touchdowns in Carolina's win ...
