Bucs lose rookie TE Danny Vitale to Browns
The Bucs have lost former draft pick and Northwestern tight end Danny Vitale, who was signed off Tampa Bay's practice squad on Friday to join the 53-man roster of the Cleveland Browns.
The Bucs had cut Vitale, a sixth-round draft pick, in their final cuts but were able to get him back on their practice squad after Buffalo waived him, citing a shoulder injury.
The move leaves the Bucs with just six players on their 10-man practice squad -- LB Cameron Lynch and RB Russell Hansbrough were promoted to the active roster over the weekend, and LB Josh Keyes was released from the practice squad Tuesday.
Tampa Bay worked out 11 players on Wednesday and held off on signing any due to their bye week -- players aren't back at One Buc Place until Monday, so there's little reason to sign newcomers until after the weekend. Two players who had worked out for the Bucs have already signed elsewhere -- DE Chris McCain is signing with the Saints' practice squad, and CB Robertson Daniel signed with the Ravens' practice squad.
