Bucs officially add 11 undrafted rookies, cut three
The Bucs aren't done adding undrafted rookies this week, but the team has announced an initial group of 11 signings, while also cutting three players to make room for the new arrivals.
The cuts -- tight ends Josh Baker and Steve Maneri and cornerback Bobby Felder -- were all added since the end of last season. Baker and Maneri have previous NFL experience with other teams, while Felder spent part of last season on the Bucs' practice squad as a rookie.
The undrafted rookies have all been reported here already -- Wyoming QB Brett Smith, Florida WR Solomon Patton, Boise State WR Aaron Burks, Louisiana-Monroe OG Josh Allen, Virginia Tech OG Andrew Miller, Florida and Boston College OT Matt Patchan (Armwood); Georgia Tech DT Euclid Cummings, South Carolina DE Chaz Sutton, Texas A&M LB Nate Askew, Virginia-Lynchburg CB Keith Lewis and Eastern Michigan S Mycal Swaim.
The Bucs are expected to sign a few more undrafted rookies before the three-day rookie minicamp that starts Friday -- it appears others who said they had signed with the team, such as USF DE Ryne Giddins, will only be participating in the minicamp as tryout players who could be signed after the weekend.
