Bucs pick up receiver prospect Eric Page
The Bucs have signed receiver prospect Eric Page, the University of Toledo’s all-time receiving leader who entered the league undrafted in 2012.
Page joined the Broncos last year after initially indicating he would sign with Tampa Bay. He went so far as to post the news on Twitter that he’d be signing with the Bucs, only to back out later and opt for Denver’s offer.
It all became moot when Page suffered a knee injury and had to undergo surgery. He was released with a settlement by Denver but now is ready to return, it appears.
At Toledo, Page was nothing but productive. He caught 125 passes in 2011 for 1,182 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was thought by many to be a prospect who would be drafted, but that didn’t prove true.
The Bucs have overhauled the bottom of their receiving corps this offseason, adding free agents Kevin Ogletree, Steve Smith and now, Page, to go along with Tiquan Underwood, Chris Owusu and others.
