Bucs place Shepard on IR, add Streeter to practice squad
The Bucs have added to their league-leading total of players on injured reserve, placing special-teams player Russell Shepard on the list Tuesday due to a foot injury suffered in Sunday's loss to Miami.
Shepard, a rookie receiver from LSU, had six tackles on special teams and forced two fumbles, also recovering an onsides kick for the Bucs this season. He was involved in a costly play in Sunday's loss, fumbling an exchange from Eric Page on a fourth-quarter kickoff return that was intended to go for a reverse; San Francisco jumped on the loose ball for a touchdown and a 30-14 lead.
With Shepard on the injured reserve, the Bucs have an opening on the 53-man roster, though no move was announced Tuesday. The team did add former Miami and Ravens receiver Tommy Streeter to the practice squad, cutting former USF defensive tackle Richard Clebert to make room. Streeter was a sixth-round pick of the Ravens in 2012 and missed that season on injured reserve before being cut in August. He was also on the Bills' practice squad this season.
