Bucs release TE Crabtree
Tight end Tom Crabtree is among the first post-draft casualties for the Bucs.
The former Packers free agent tweeted he had been released by the Bucs Saturday.
"I've been released,'' Crabtree tweeted. "Thank you to Lovie and the rest of the new staff for giving me a shot. That's a great group of guys. Expect big things.''
Crabtree played in seven games last season and finished with four receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown. Crabtree missed the first part of 2013 with a high ankle sprain he suffered in preseason and then finished the year on injured reserve after tearing his biceps. Rookie Tim Wright emerged as the Bucs' starting tight end last season.
Last week, the Bucs spent a second-round pick on Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins.
