Bucs stay busy with 19 undrafted rookie free agents
As soon as the NFL draft wrapped up Saturday, the Bucs kept busy, signing at least 19 undrafted rookie free agents to contracts.
Here's a full rundown of the prospects we've been able to confirm -- they'll be here in Tampa for rookie minicamp starting Friday:
Peyton Barber, RB, Auburn: Early-entry draftee rushed for 1,017 yards and 13 touchdown for Tigers -- nine scores in two games.
Tim Brown, TE, West Chester: Crazy junior year with 15 touchdowns -- another five as senior on 33 catches for 444 yards.
Kivon Cartwright, TE, Colorado State: 11 career touchdowns for Rams, though just two on 279 yards as senior.
Tyson Coleman, OLB, Oregon: Started 28 games in last two years, with 63 tackles as senior, 12 TFL, 4.5 sacks.
Alan Cross, FB/TE, Memphis: Prolific pass-catcher had 90 catches for 1,050 yards and 14 TDs in college. Listed at 6-1, 245.
Taylor Fallin, OT, Memphis: Massive offensive lineman at 6-foot-6, 339 pounds. 35 career starts for the Tigers.
Russell Hansbrough, RB, Missouri: Rushed for 436 yards and one touchdown as a senior.
Traveon Henry, S, Northwestern: 231 career tackles, 3 INTs, 9.5 TFLs; played in Tampa for Outback Bowl.
Isaiah Johnson, S, South Carolina: Grad transfer from Kansas had 74 tackles in 2015, played for Bucs secondary coach Jon Hoke.
Anthony Kelly, WR, Kutztown: Small-school standout had 16 touchdown catches over last two years.
DaVonte Lambert, DE, Auburn: Defensive end (6-2, 282) had 24 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack as senior.
Cassanova McKinzy, LB, Auburn: Prolific linebacker had five sacks, 10 TFLs and 74 tackles as senior.
Jontavius Morris, DL, UAB/WKU: Transferred to Western Kentucky, had 34 tackles, 5 TFL, two sacks after playing at UAB.
Roman Namdar, WR, Mount Union: (NOTE: Actually just a tryout player) Ridiculous stats: 38 TDs in last two years on combined 2,390 yards at Div. III power.
Luke Rhodes, LB, William & Mary: Small-school standout had 78 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, two forced fumbles as senior.
Dominique Robertson, OL, West Georgia: Big prospect at 6-5, 324 pounds -- nephew of Bucs offensive line coach George Warhop.
Elijah Shumate, S, Notre Dame: Had 70 tackles and 6.5 TFLs as senior for Fighting Irish ...
Dez Stewart, WR, Ohio Dominican: 25 TDs in four years, including 11 in junior year that saw him pile up 1,156 receiving yards.
Channing Ward, DL, Ole Miss: Had 6.5 TFLs and three sacks as senior, could help himself on special teams.
Leonard Wester, OL, Missouri Western: Small-school prospect was off radar until month ago, picked up momentum and chose Bucs.
We can also confirm five tryout players in former Plant, Alabama and Toledo QB Philip Ely, former USF QB Steven Bench and former Maine DE Mike Kozlakowski, who had 11.5 tackles for loss last season. Also Mount Union WR Roman Namdar, who we referenced above, and Syracuse offensive lineman Rob Trudo.
