Bucs take Mississippi State defensive back in second round

The Bucs select Mississippi State defensive back Johnthan Banks with the 43rd overall pick in the NFL draft.

Banks is 6-2 and a good cover corner with 16 career INTs, a school record.

He won the Jim Thorpe award as the best defensive back in the nation last year as a senior.

Among the negatives for Banks, he has a slight build at 185 pounds.

The Bucs revamped secondary: Dashon Goldson, Darrelle Revis, Banks, Mark Barron and Eric Wright.

Although Banks is only a rookie, you have to wonder if there is even a room at the inn for Ronde Barber at this point.
