Bucs will continue to use WR Shorts on kickoff return
The Bucs' season opener saw all but one opposing kickoff go for a touchback, but coach Dirk Koetter said he'll have new receiver Cecil Shorts back deep again Sunday when Tampa Bay plays at Arizona.
"Cecil's an explosive guy. He's done it before," Koetter said. "We wanted to split it up between him and (punt returner) Adam (Humphries). Cecil can do both, Adam can do both, and that's where we're at right now. He just didn't get any shots at it, but I'm sure that's coming."
The Falcons brought three kicks out of the end zone Sunday, with limited results -- kicks were returned to the 19, 24 and 29-yard lines -- and Koetter said his team has established guidelines for how deep a kick can come out.
"They brought a couple out from pretty deep -- that first one, I don't know how deep that was, 8 yards maybe. We have a set point of where we're going to bring it out or not bring it out," he said.
