Carimi to start at left guard for Nicks; Lorig out

As expected, Gabe Carimi will start at left guard for injured All-Pro Carl Nicks, who is inactive for today's game against the Jets.

It will be Carimi's first career start at left guard, having started three at right guard and 13 at right tackle with the Bears. But Carimi made a couple preseason starts there for the Bucs, and has been taking the first team reps the past week, saying he feels comfortable stepping in.

The other Bucs inactives are TE Tom Crabtree, DE William Gholston, DT Chris Jones, CB Rashaan Melvin, QB Dan Orlovsky and FB Erik Lorig.

With Lorig out, Peyton Hillis could get some time at fullback, or TE Nate Byham.

As for the starting lineup, it looks a lot like the depth chart the Bucs released this week. CB Leonard Johnson will start ahead of Johnthan Banks, DE Daniel Te'o-Nesheim ahead of Da'Quan Bowers.

For the Jets, WR Santonio Holmes is active, and will likely get shadowed quite a bit by Darrelle Revis, who is making his much-anticipated return to the Meadowlands.
