Attorney: Talib should be permitted to play in 2011
Aqib Talib should be permitted to play the 2011 season without interruption until his case is settled next March, his attorney said.
Talib is scheduled to stand trial on charges of assault with a deadly weapon stemming from his role in a shooting March 21 in Garland, Texas.
Perez set the trial for March 26, 2012.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has said players who violate the personal conduct policy during the lockout will be disciplined.
Perez says the league should allow Talib to play this season.
"Absolutely -- Aqib has the presumption of innocence,'' Perez said. "Everyone should consider him innocent at this point I would hope they let him play this season and let him have his day in court. We are very confident and strongly believe he will prevail in court.''
