Barrett Ruud expresses disappointment over contract status
Linebacker Barrett Ruud broke his silence today, telling reporters here at Bucs training camp that he indeed is disappointed over the organization's decision to not award him a long-term contract.
Left tackle Donald Penn and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy signed massive deals over the weekend, but the Bucs appear content to wait and see with Ruud.
Ruud doesn't plan to take any action to force the team's hand but wishes his performance would have been convincing enough.
"You like for your results to speak for themselves," he said. "I think I've played pretty well for 48 games. . . I'm not going to stop until I stop playing. You always want to be rewarded for your performance. That's kind of the bottom line."
