Bennett brothers look forward to matchup Saturday
Bucs defensive end Michael Bennett could tell Saturday's matchup with the Cowboys is a big deal for more than just a nationally-televised game against "America's Team."
All he had to do was hear his family's ticket requests. It'll mark the first time Bennett will face his younger brother, Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett, in an NFL game.
"It's a big deal playing against each other," Bennett said. "We're always talking about who was the best player and I told him, 'I'm not going to take it easy on you because you're my brother.' And he said the same thing. It's our job.'
The Bennett brothers were teammates at Taylor High and Texas A&M (2005-2007). There's a chance the two could line up against each other Saturday as although Martellus isn't the Cowboy's primary tight end, he sometimes helps block the opposing defensive end. Does Michael have any insight into Martellus' weaknesses?
"I have some," Michael said, smiling. "But I won't tell."
It'll be a special night for Bennett's family, who apparently will be traveling quite a few from Texas.
"Everybody in the world wants tickets and I"m like, 'Tickets aren't free,'' Bennett joked. "My family has been planning for a long time for this game, they've got a whole itenerary of what we're going to be doing, so it's going to be pretty fun."
