Brady Quinn's start might mean slight changes for Chiefs' passing game

Brady Quinn has been named the Chiefs’ starting quarterback against the Bucs on Sunday, and Tampa Bay’s coaches expect a slight difference in his play versus that of injured starter Matt Cassel.

Bucs coach Greg Schiano said Quinn’s mobility and size could factor into the game plan a bit, if Kansas City offensive coordinator Brian Daboll attempts to take advantage.

“(Quinn) has played quarterback in this league. The thing that may be different in his skill set is that he’s a more mobile guy, maybe a little stouter guy,” Schiano said. “Does that mean more moving pocket stuff? Maybe.”

Either way, the Chiefs are going to stay pretty close to their character because they run the ball so effectively.

“I think Brian Daboll does a great job,” Schiano said. “They know exactly what they want to do. Philosophically, their ballclub sets the tone. . . I don’t see him varying way off. I think we’ve been preparing for him anyway. When you have a guy who has a concussion (Cassel), the odds aren’t great that he’s going to play.”
