Buccaneers to go 3-13? Really?
This is the time of year when you'll begin to hear all kinds of prognostications as opening day in the NFL gets nearer.
In some cases, they've already started. CBSSports.com NFL columnist endeavored to literally predict every game from Week 1 through the Super Bowl, along the way projecting results for every team.
And you might be interested to know that he wasn't very kind to the Bucs. In fact, Prisco projects Tampa Bay to finish . . . 3-13. Yes, worse than last year's 4-12 record, when the Bucs didn't employ Vincent Jackson, Carl Nicks, Mark Barron nor Doug Martin. Worse than the team that endured Josh Freeman's career-worst season and critical injuries to players like Gerald McCoy. Last time the Bucs went 3-13 (in 2009), they had a glorified practice squad masquerading as an NFL roster.
In Prisco's analysis, the Bucs will beat the Redskins, Saints and Rams. And that's it.
Who knows how it'll turn out? We at the Tampa Bay Times will reveal our picks in our special section, scheduled to be published on opening day (Sept. 9). I don't even have a clue what my prediction is right now.
I just know this: I won't be picking the Bucs to win the Super Bowl, but I also won't be picking them to go 3-13.
