Buccaneers place Crowell on IR, sign Barrett Ruud's brother
Angelo Crowell's comeback is over before it ever began in earnest, and his season-ending injury has opened the door to a family reunion.
Crowell, a veteran trying to rebound from a knee injury that kept him out all of last season, will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a biceps injury.
To replace him at linebacker, the Bucs signed Bo Ruud, younger brother of starting middle linebacker Barrett Ruud. Bo, a former sixth-round pick of the Patriots, spent the offseason with the Cleveland Browns but was recently released.
Additionally, the Bucs added cornerback Darrell Hunter to compensate for the loss of Elbert Mack, who will miss this week's game with an ankle sprain. Hunter is a former member of the practice squad.
