Bucs add final coach to staff with former ASU assistant Eric Yarber
The Bucs are close to finalizing a deal to make Eric Yarber their receivers coach.
A few details were still being worked out this afternoon, but the team could make the news official as early as Thursday. This comes on the heels of Monday's move to hire quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt. The Yarber hiring will complete the team's coaching staff.
Yarber, who had a brief stint as a Redskins receiver in the 1980s, had been working as an offensive assistant at Arizona State for the past three seasons. His bio includes stops at Washington and Oregon State as well as NFL jobs with the Seahawks and Redskins.
Yarber replaces Richard Mann, whose contract will not be renewed. Several other candidates were considered, including former Bucs receiver Ike Hilliard.
Among the receivers Yarber has coached are Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzedah (at Oregon State) and Terrell Owens and Brandon Lloyd (with the 49ers).
