Bucs aggressive play on kneel down met with punches from Giants player
At least two New York Giants players reacted aggressively to the Bucs' attempt to jar the football loose when Eli Manning took a knee with five seconds remaining in a 41-34 win Sunday.
Based on a replay of the final snap from Sunday's game, Giants center David Baas appears to throw three punches into the pile of Bucs players and guard Kevin Boothe grabs the hair of Bucs defensive end Adrian Clayborn and is seen dropping a knee on him while getting to his feet.
“Yeah, you know, they just responded to what they perceived the situation,’’ Bucs defensive tackle Roy Miller said. “They didn’t see it the way we saw it. We had a chance at the end of the game to get the ball back and it just didn’t happen. But if you look at it the way you should, you understand and move on.’’
NFL spokesman Randall Lui indicated the Bucs committed no violations on the final play Sunday. Any conduct that "may warrant discipline will be reviewed under our normal process."
