Bucs bring back defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry
The Bucs keep altering their roster, two days after the NFL’s cutdown deadline.
This time, they’ve elected to bring back defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry, one of the two players who was removed from practice on Saturday and released to make room for players who were being added.
Gilberry’s spot on the roster is created by the released of guard Julian Vandervelde. He was claimed off waivers from the Eagles on Saturday. It’s not clear what led to his release so soon, before he even had the opportunity to practice.
Gilberry is a player the Bucs have a need for given the lack of depth on the defensive line. He has the ability to play end and tackle, both positions at which the Bucs have depth concerns.
