Bucs center Faine ready to take the pain

Team doctors have assured C Jeff Faine he can't make his triceps injury any worse by returning to practice or by playing on Sunday against Carolina.

But that doesn't mean it'll be a seamless transition back into the lineup. Faine said he's prepared to deal with the inevitable discomfort that will come along with playing through the injury, which isn't 100 percent healed.

"There is going to be some pain," he said. "That’s just part of it. But I think the good part is that I pretty much got the okay from my doctors that it won’t tear again unless it’s part of another injury. There’s no more risk there than any other part of my body. So that’s why they gave me to the okay to go."

After today's practice, coach Raheem Morris said Faine was a full participant in all the day's practice drills. That means he had no limitations on his activity, something that is a great indication he'll be back this week.

Faine's return should do wonders for both the pass protection and the running game, which have suffered in his absence.
