Bucs coaching staff includes new linebackers coach

The Bucs finally released their revamped 2013 coaching staff today, confirming a number of previously reported moves but also revealing a few new ones.

Among the previously unknown changes is the hiring of new linebackers coach Robb Smith, the defensive coordinator and secondary coach at Rutgers last season. Smith replaces Bob Fraser, who now carries the title of assistant defensive coordinator. Smith has coached linebackers as well as special teams at Rutgers, where he worked for Bucs coach Greg Schiano.

The Bucs also changed the title of defensive assistant Bryan Cox, giving him the role of pass-rush specialist. Cox served as front-seven coach in 2012.

The Bucs had made a series of changes to their staff over the past month, all of which were confirmed in today’s release. Those included the hiring of quarterbacks coach John McNulty, secondary coach Tony Oden, receivers coach John Garrett and special teams coach Dave Wannstedt.
