Bucs draw announced crowd of 47K vs. Browns
The Bucs game was blacked out locally in the Tampa Bay/Central Florida region, and here's why:
The game drew an announced crowd (paid attendance) of 47,211. But the actual turnstile number, or the number of fans who actually passed through the gates, was 41,544. That's as small a crowd as you'll see for a regular-season NFL game.
Of course, the Bucs won, and one of the ways they'll see an uptick in attendance is to simply win. But the many, many patches of empty seats here today were indicative of a team that is going to have attendance woes all season long.
