Bucs DT Brian Price placed on injured reserve with pelvic fracture
Bucs second-round pick Brian Price was placed on injured reserve today with a pelvic fracture. An MRI examination three weeks ago showed significant irritation in the hip.
Price's agent Chuck Price (no relation) said that though surgery will be required, the UCLA defensive tackle should return to full health in time for next season.
Price has been inactive the last two games.
"The ordinary person would not have been able to get out of a chair without severe pain," Chuck Price said. "No one can ever question his toughness.
"Brian was able to get into a three-point stance (and) potentially take on 720 pounds of double teams," Price said. "The amount of pain he was in had to be significant."
The surgery will require putting a screw in his hip to prevent the fracture from becoming more severe.
