Bucs facing tough decisions on gameday activations
The Bucs are likely to have some new players among their game-day actives, including fullback/tight end Erik Lorig, defensive end Michael Bennett and running back Kareem Huggins.
That will create some difficult decisions when it comes to who will be among the eight inactive players (only 45 players can be active on game day).
Some of the players in danger of being declared inactive include fullback Chris Pressley and receiver Maurice Stovall.
The decisions "are tough every week," coach Raheem Morris said. "That's the sign of the team getting better."
Morris said Lorig and Pressley will "continue to battle throughout the season" for a spot on the game-day active list. There have been strong indications that Lorig will get the nod this week. And Morris' statements and other indications make it clear that Lorig is probably seen as more of a fullback right now than a tight end. But the converted defensive end has been learning the details of both positions, so anything is possible.
