Bucs final injury report to come, but Trueblood still not practicing
UPDATE, 1:46 p.m.: Coach Greg Schiano said after practice that Trueblood did participate in some capacity today, but it seems too early to say whether he can play. Nicks seems to be coming along well, however.
12:58 p.m.: The Bucs are conducting their final practice of the week right now, but during the open media portion, right tackle Jeremy Trueblood (ankle) still was not participating.
If his issues continue, the Bucs will turn to backup Demar Dotson against the Giants on Sunday.
Meanwhile, All-Pro left guard Carl Nicks is participating and is expected to play, despite his toe injury.
The Bucs have already taken steps to shore up their offensive line against the stout Giants defensive line. They've recalled backup lineman Derek Hardman, re-signing him this morning after releasing him last week. To make room on the roster, the team released defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry.
If anything, that roster move is further evidence the Bucs don't expect Trueblood to play. The last thing they'd want is to be caught short-handed along the offensive line, especially given this week's opponent.
The Bucs and Giants will release their final injury reports later today, so look for that. Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks (foot) is not practicing today, by the way.
