Bucs' first roster cuts looming
The Bucs will have to make a number of roster moves in the next 24 hours, with the NFL’s deadline for the first wave of roster cuts looming.
Teams are required to trim their current 90-man rosters to 75 players by 4 p.m. on Monday, moving us closer to Friday’s final cuts.
The Bucs released three players on Thursday and will be placing injured Davin Joseph on injured reserve, meaning they’ll have 86 players on their active roster. That leaves 11 players for the Turk (typically pro scouting coordinator Shelton Quarles) to break the bad news to.
There are enough players on the roster for this round of cuts to include mostly long-shot players, but there’s always a chance a more prominent player could be among the cuts (i.e. the release running back Derrick Ward a few years ago).
So, do you think there will be a surprise among these cuts? And who will it be? Tell us.
