Bucs front office loses another while Hickey and Quarles appear safe

When director of pro scouting Doug Williams left the Bucs on Tuesday, he wasn’t the only member of the personnel department to end his tenure with the team.

Pro personnel assistant Victor Green, a longtime Jets safety, was let go on the same day. Green’s responsibilities involved evaluating the current roster and free agents as well as advance scouting. He joined the team last year and hoped to learn the ropes of working in a front office environment.

We told you at the time the club announced Williams’ departure that there would be a comprehensive evaluation of the personnel and scouting departments. So far, that evaluation won’t affect a couple of people: Director of college scouting Dennis Hickey and pro scout Shelton Quarles.

Hickey has held his current post for the past five seasons and has been with the Buccaneers for 14. He oversees all college scouting, including the team's regional scouts. Quarles serves as an advance scout during the season, scouting future opponents, and also does extensive evaluation of the current roster.
