Bucs have keen interest in Roethlisberger suspension
The early reports indicate Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is probably looking at a suspension lasting between four and six weeks, according to the Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen on ESPN.
There are expected to be stipulations attached that could reduce the suspension, but it looks very possible right now that Pittsburgh's two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback could be sidelined when his team faces the Buccaneers in Week 3 this fall.
That game is scheduled for Sept. 26 in Tampa.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to make an official announcement shortly. The discipline stems from Roethlisberger's involvement in a rape investigation in Georgia. Authorities there said they lacked sufficient evidence to press charges, but that does not preclude the league from meting out discipline, per the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
