Bucs have no interest in Vick
It comes as no surprise, but count the Bucs among the teams that have no interest in quarterback Michael Vick.
The Atlanta Falcons on Friday announced they had released Vick, who remains suspended by the NFL for his role in a dogfighting ring.
Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff indicated the Falcons failed in their attempt to trade their rights to Vick.
"The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not be pursuing Michael Vick,' Bucs general manager Mark Dominik said in a text message to the Times Friday. "We are excited with the competition we currently have at the quarterback position.''
The Bucs have five quarterbacks under contract -- Luke McCown, Byron Leftwich, Josh Freeman, Josh Johnson and Brian Griese.
