Bucs interested in Seahawks TE Carlson
The Bucs are among five teams who have expressed an interest in Seahawks tight end John Carlson, who will visit the Kansas City Chiefs, ProFootballtalk.com reported.
The 6-foot-5, 251-pound Carlson missed last leason with a torn labrum in his shoulder but has been a very productive pass catcher when healthy. In three seasons, Carlson has 137 receptions for 1,519 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Tight end Kellen Winslow has averaged more than 70 receptions and four touchdowns per season since being acquired in a trade with the Browns in 2009. He will be 29 in July. The Bucs did not get much from Luke Stocker, a rookie from Tennessee last season.
The Chicago Tribune reported one rumor making the rounds is that the Bucs attempted to trade Winslow to the Chicago Bears, 'who did not bite.'
The Colts, Bears, Vikings, Cowboys and Seahawks, his former team, are all interested in Carlson, the former Notre Dame product, according to PFT.
