Bucs make the day of a 11-year-old fan
For Ryan Connolly, getting a football taken from him at Bucs camp turned out to be an unforgettable experience.
Connolly, 11, at training camp with the Treasure Island summer camp, was excited when Bucs receiver/KR Micheal Spurlock tossed him a football during punt drills Wednesday afternoon. But since they were in the middle of drills, a Bucs representative retrieved it, saying he promised to return it.
But Connolly never expected what happened next. Bucs coach Raheem Morris came over to the St. Petersburg seventh grader in the stands, gave him a ball and brought him on the sidelines of the practice field. Morris asked Connolly if he played football (yes), what position (defensive end) and who were his favorite players (Aqib Talib and Ronde Barber).
Then, Connolly got to meet them, getting the football signed by Talib, Barber, Barrett Ruud, and Morris.
"It was really awesome," Connolly said, smiling.
