Bucs place Tim Crowder on injured reserve, promote Ahmad Black
Bucs defensive end Tim Crowder's concussion symptoms apparently aren't subsiding quickly.
The Bucs placed the veteran on injured reserve today, ending his season after he sustained a concussion against the Panthers last Sunday. The Bucs replaced him on the 53-man roster by promoting rookie safety Ahmad Black from the practice squad.
Black, a fifth-round pick from Florida, was slowed by an ankle injury in the preseason and was unable to land a spot on the team's final roster. He has been on the practice squad ever since but now might get a chance to see some action.
The Bucs could be without backup safety Larry Asante (hamstring) on Sunday, possibly giving Black a chance to be activated on gameday.
