Bucs sign DE Tim Crowder, QB Crompton, release two others



The Bucs remained true to their plan and signed defensive end Tim Crowder to a two-year contract, the fifth free agent to return to the team.

The team also announced the signing of former Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton to a three-year deal and K Jacob Rogers. The Bucs released K Josh Jasper and DT Doug Worthington.

Crowder, a fifrth-year veteran, played the last two seasons in Tampa Bay. He has appeared in 50 games with 14 starts, totaling 115 tackles, 10.5 sacks, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.

Last season, Crowder started a career-high nine games and tied for third on the team with three sacks to go with 42 tackles.

Crowder joined G Davin Joseph, T Jeremy Trueblood, LB Quincy Black and LB Adam Hayward as Bucs free agents to re-sign with the team.
