Bucs in the thick of NFC playoff picture

December

If the season ended today, the Bucs would just barely on the outside looking in.

But they are closer to the postseason than they were prior to Sunday's game.

Tampa Bay handled its business and even got a little help from some of its competitors on Sunday, with the 8-5 Packers falling slightly behind Tampa Bay via a tiebreaker. The Bears, another potential wildcard competitor, also lost, to the Patriots. Chicago still leads the NFC North. Click here to check out the playoff standings.

The next domino to fall will be tonight's delayed Giants-Vikings game in Detroit, where the clubs will meet after the Metrodome's roof collapsed. A Giants loss would put the Bucs in a three-way tie for the final wildcard spot with the Packers and Giants.

Basically, if the Bucs keep winning, this is going to be one wild finish.
