Bucs to wear throwbacks on Sunday vs. Saints
The Bucs will take the field on Sunday in their throwback, creamsicle uniforms for the fourth consecutive season.
Players already were preparing for the new look, practicing today wearing the same Bucco Bruce helmets that they’ll wear in the game.
Even Greg Schiano took notice.
“I do like them,” he said. “I think it’s a nice thing they do in the NFL. And a guy my age, I remember all those other uniforms. Well, some of them go way back. I don’t remember those. But I certainly remember the old Bucs uniforms. It’ll be fun to wear them.”
The Bucs are 1-2 in throwbacks. The only victory was a memorable victory over the Packers in 2009, one that got former coach Raheem Morris his first win after an 0-7 start.
In 2010, the Bucs had another remarkable day in orange, but for wholly different reasons. They suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Falcons, who came from behind to pull out the win and, effectively, knocked the Bucs out of the postseason.
Last season, the Panthers defeated the Bucs in the throwback game.
