CB Aqib Talib doesn't practice, status uncertain for Sunday

Update 3:07 p.m. CB Aqib Talib did not practice on Thursday as the hamstring that has bothered him for about five weeks continues to be a struggle.

Bucs coach Raheem Morris said Talib is day-to-day, and they'll have to wait and see if he's a go for Sunday against Carolina.

"He didn't have practice today, was limited yesterday, so we'll just have to see," Morris said. "He's been like that for a while. Hopefully he can suck it up and get out there and play for us.

"You can't have progress when you have an injury like a hamstring. It just kind of lingers and whether you can deal with it or not, just happens to be."

Talib did a solid job of shutting down Panthers WR Steve Smith in the team's previous matchup this season, holding him to just one catch for four yards. If Talib can't go, CB Derrick Roberson and CB Elbert Mack will get more playing time in Talib's spot.

Veteran CB Ronde Barber could be the one who matches up with Smith. " Ronde accepts challenges well, so we'll just have to see," Morris said.

In other injury news, DT Roy Miller was limited (ankle), Donald Penn was back to full participation, as was Maurice Stovall, Cadillac Williams and Kellen Winslow. Stylez White was limited (hand) and Michael Clayton  and Michael Bennett didn't participate.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Aqib Talib (hamstring), WR Michael Clayton (knee) and DE Stylez White (hand) were not at the portion of Thursday's practice available to the media.

Talib and White were limited Wednesday, and Clayton did not participate then either.

The rest of the banged-up Bucs were at practice Thursday, including DT Roy Miller (ankle) to RB Cadillac Williams (coaches decision) and TE Kellen Winslow (knee) and T Donald Penn (knee).
