Clifton Smith placed on injured reserve
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed running back/kick returner Clifton Smith on injured reserve today, two days after he sustained his second concussion of the season.
Both concussions came against the Carolina Panthers, most recently during Sunday's 16-6 loss in Charlotte. Smith was injured while tackling Geoff Schwartz on the opening kickoff.
In a loss earlier this season, Smith was hit under his chin by Carolina's Dante Wesley, who launched himself at Smith's head as Smith fielded a punt. Smith left the game with a concussion and sat out the following game against the Patriots in London.
The Bucs promoted running back Kareem Huggins from their practice squad to take Smith's spot on the roster.
