Cox's suspension ends
Cornerback Torrie Cox is eligible to return to the active roster this week after completing his four-game suspension on Sunday.
Cox was suspended by the NFL for a violation of the league's substance-abuse policy. His violation stemmed from his use of alcohol while enrolled in the substance-abuse program.
It remains to be seen what the Bucs will do with their roster this week. They have a few things to consider, not the least of which is what, if anything, they'll do to address the losses of Cadillac Williams and Luke Petitgout.
Also, a factor not working in Cox's favor is the play of Sammy Davis, who seems to be holding his own as the nickel cornerback. Davis has been pressed into service because starting cornerback Brian Kelly will sit out until his groin completely heals. That might take a few weeks though, leaving the Bucs a little thin at cornerback. So, come to think of it, the Bucs probably will keep Cox on board out of necessity.
