Faine injury could sideline him up to six weeks
Starting cente Jeff Faine said today his quadriceps injury will sideline him between four and six weeks after suffering a pull in Sunday's win at Cincinnati.
"It's difficult right now to be able to say," he said. "It's anywhere from four to six weeks. It's going to be some time. It's unfortunate."
Faine will not require surgery but will undergo intense rehab to allow the injury to heal on its own. Personally, Faine said the injury's timing couldn't be worse.
"It was difficult because we've been in a dogfight all year, but we've been on the right side of it," he said. "I definitely want to be involved and be a part of this. It's getting right in the thick of things, in the meat of the schedule where we're playing a lot of divisional opponents, the games you love to play. I especially love to play this game (against the Saints). It's tough to go sit on the sidelines, but I'll just contribute as much as I can."
