First depth chart released
It will remain a work in progress for some time, but the Bucs have released their first depth chart of the season.
There aren't any huge shockers, but there are certainly some interesting choices. Among them is the fact veteran Ike Hilliard remains the starter at flanker, listed ahead of second-teamer Michael Clayton. Opposite Hilliard at split end is Joey Galloway, of course, who is backed up by Maurice Stovall.
At running back, Earnest Graham is listed as the starter, which meshes with what coach Jon Gruden has maintained since the start of camp. But that doesn't necessarily indicate how much or how little Warrick Dunn will see the ball. The Bucs plan to work him into their offense extensively.
Elsewhere, Kevin Carter is listed as the starter at left defensive end, with Greg White listed as the backup. That battle isn't over, but both will see extensive playing time no matter the final decision.
At left cornerback, veteran Phillip Buchanon remains the starter, with first-round pick Aqib Talib his backup. At strong safety, Jermaine Phillips still occupies the starting position, though backup Sabby Piscitelli is making things interesting with his steady performances.
