Former Bucs star Barrett Ruud won't play for Titans on Sunday
Former Bucs linebacker Barrett Ruud, now with the Tennessee Titans, won't suit up against the Bucs on Sunday because of a groin injury that kept him out of practice all this week.
Ruud, a second-round draft pick of the Bucs in 2005, left Tampa Bay as a free agent prior to this season, signing a 1-year deal with Tennessee. He'll be replaced Sunday by Colin McCarthy, a graduate of Clearwater Central Catholic. The decision by Bucs general manager Mark Dominik to let Ruud walk and to replace him with rookie Mason Foster was debated fiercely in Tampa Bay.
Ruud led the Bucs in tackles during the past four seasons but this season has been slowed by an earlier shoulder injury and the more recent groin injury.
