Freeman becomes only back-to-back NFL FedEx Air Player of Week
No player finished the season stronger than Josh Freeman.
The Bucs quarterback was named the NFL FedEx Air Player of the Week for his performance in a 23-13 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Freeman becomes the first back-to-back winner of the award and joins the Eagles' Michael Vick and the Packers' Aaron Rodgers as the only two-time winners this season.
Freeman, who was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Wednesday, completed 21-of-26 passes for 255 yards and two touchdowns against the Saints. He finished the season throwing a touchdown pass in 13 consecutive games, a club record.
In the final five games of the season, Freeman passed for 1,190 yards with 10 touchdowns and one interceptions for the third highest passer rating in the league (110.6).
