Gerald McCoy in good spirits after successful surgery
Guess who made an appearance in the Bucs' locker room today?
Gerald McCoy, fresh off his season-ending surgery to repair a torn biceps.
McCoy was in good spirits, but he lamented the fact that he will be inactive for quite some time, unable to lift weights or do anything requires much usage of left arm.
"Man, it's frustrating," he said.
But overall, McCoy wasn't down despite his circumstances. He was his usual vibrant self, actually offering to show us camera-phone photos of his surgery (we reluctantly agreed -- yuck!). McCoy, who underwent the surgery in Miami, will have his arm wrapped and in a sling for 10 days, then he'll eventually start his rehab.
As for his timetable for getting back to football, McCoy vowed to be ready to go for OTAs, when the Bucs get back to their offseason work. That typically starts in April, though the offseason conditioning program begins before then.
