Glazer family denies Manchester United is available

There have been reports in British media during the past two days that a consortium of Asian businessmen is in the process of putting together a bid worth more than one billion English pounds for world famous soccer club Manchester United.

The team, as most Bucs fans know, is owned by the Glazer family, which also owns the Bucs.

We reached out to a family spokesperson today and were told, in no uncertain terms, that there will be no sale.

"Manchester United is not for sale," the spokesman said.

Of course, that doesn't prohibit this group -- if the reports are accurate -- from making an offer. If it's rich enough and makes some financial sense, anything is possible.

This is relevant to the Bucs because of the many fans who have linked the Bucs' misfortunes and the club's low spending to the family's ownership of Man U, for which it remains heavily in debt.
