Greg Schiano: Bucs can learn from Patriots

Patriots coach Bill Belichick is back at One Buc Place for New England’s joint practice with the Bucs and will speak to reporters momentarily.

But before we move on to him, let’s recap something Bucs coach Greg Schiano mentioned on Wednesday about what the Bucs can learn from working alongside the Patriots for these two days.

The young Bucs could learn a lot from watching the likes of Tom Brady and Wes Welker, Schiano said.

“If you put your ego and your pride aside,” he said. “You’re both players in the National Football League. They’re both chasing the same prize. But if you can put your ego aside you can say, ‘Hey, these are some Hall of Fame players that I get to be on the field with.’’’

Here’s the thing: Schiano said he learned a few things, too.

“I’d be foolish not to learn from Bill Belichick, and I did,” Schiano said. “If you don’t put your ego aside, then you won’t be doing it very long.”
