Bucs Beat

Rick Stroud, Greg Auman and Matt Baker

Live from Nashville, Buccaneers-Titans live blog

The Bucs just completed their pre-game routine here at LP Stadium in Nashville and will be ready to kick off shortly in this preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans.

As preseason games go, this one should be full of intrigue. How does Luke McCown fare in his attempt to stake a claim at the starting quarterback job? How does this new-look offense, well, look? Are the Bucs picking up Jim Bates' defense?

We should see some of those questions addressed to some extent here tonight.

The team's staff just gave me the rundown on who isn't playing tonight, and there aren't any surprises. The same guys we've been reporting as injured all week are still out. They include WRs Michael Clayton (hamstring) and Antonio Bryant (knee), C Jeff Faine (groin) and RB Cadillac Williams (coach's decision). Maurice Stovall and Brian Clark will be the starting receivers, with Sean Mahan starting at center.

Anyway, since I'm here, and you're here, let's talk. I'll be updating you to the extent that I can given the lateness of this game (gotta write a couple stories for tomorrow's paper), and you can feel free to chime in as well.

Kickoff's just a few moments away.
