McCoy will wear No. 93 as a goodwill gesture from Roy Miller

TP_316470_WALL_Bucs_12.JPG Gerald McCoy thought he would play with Roy Miller when both defensive tackles were recruited to Oklahoma. But Miller opted to accept a scholarship to rival Texas.

On Friday, McCoy was reunited with Miller after being selected No. 3 overall by the Bucs.

In a welcoming gesture, Miller volunteered to give his No. 93 jersey to McCoy, who wore that number with the Sooners.

t have to try, my man Roy was just generous enough to just give me the number,'' McCoy said. "He just gave it to me.''

Any cash up front?

"Ah, we'll talk about that later,'' McCoy said laughing. "He gave me the number but I'm going to take care of Roy. I really appreciate that.''

McCoy said he was looking forward to finally lining up alongside Miller.

"I'm very excited,'' McCoy said. "We always talked about it. "Man, I never got to play with you.' I said, "Yeah, because you were a fool and went to Texas.' Because he orginally was supposed to come up to Oklahoma and everybody was looking forward to it. And then when he flipped on us, man, me and my dad were so mad. It was either going to be Miami, USC or Oklahoma. I said, "If he's there and  I go there, then we're going to do something good.' Then he flipped on me. It's cool. We get to play together now.
