Morris: Price 'messed up ankle a little bit'
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris shed little light on the severity of defensive tackle Brian Price's ankle injury during Monday's weekly news conference, saying only that Price "messed up his ankle a little bit.''
Morris said he would get "more detailed information as the week goes on.''
Price, who has struggled with injuries since being taken in the second round of the 2010 draft, sprained an ankle during the second quarter of Sunday's 23-17 loss in Nashville. He was seen in the locker room after the game on crutches.
More clear was Morris' unhappiness with the play of his defensive line and linebackers against the run. Tennessee rushed for 202 yards, including 190 by Chris Johnson, the third-best outing of his career.
"We've got to play better up front,'' Morris said. "That's where it starts.''
One promising sign was rookie defensive end Da'Quan Bowers' first start. Morris said Bowers, a second-round pick in April, had some growing pains but "played well for the first time out of the box.'' Bowers replaced injured Michael Bennett.
